Do you know that God has put wisdom, authority, power and discernment within you, as a woman … we are not upon the earth to compete with our men, but rather to assist, complement and add to the world through the gifting of womanhood.
We just see thing’s differently right?
There is a comical myth that a man views life in black and white but, seen through a woman’s eyes, life is all sorts of colours! I think the word that best explains us is – DETAIL.
Do you know, a woman in worship can look beautiful and serene, poised on her knees with her hands raised heavenwards and there is a time for that.
But, there is another type of worship that has her looking undignified, unruly, like she’s on a mission. She’s determind to get a result, she hasn’t slept, hasn’t eaten, her prayers are not particularly articulated well, but they are LOUD and tear soaked, she half sings them and half shouts them, she looks like a woman going to war ….. but the Lord hears her cry!
Her cry got His attention;
In her many words there is detail unique to her situation;
Her voice is loud – though she knows her God is not deaf, her voice is heard in another, un-seen realm, the shout from her mouth, the tenacity of her prayers, shake the very gates of hell and every demon trembles at the sound… of woman!
You and I were given a voice that has a full range of octaves so we can colour the world with our sound and use our range to describe in detail the story of our lives.
There is a time to speak softly, a time to whisper;
A time to speak love and a time to be gentle,
There is a time to be silent and a time to be loud… And there is a time to shout for justice, to cry out and let the enemy know, you will fight for the promises of God over your life and that of your family.
In 2 Samuel 20; We find a woman who opened her mouth and shouted at those threatening her city – though the bible doesn’t give us her name, she is described in this passage as ‘one wise woman’!!
The story is about a bad guy called Sheba who was leading a revolt against King David, word had reached the king that Sheba and his army were hiding in a fortified city (a walled city) called Abel-beth-maachah.
David deployed his army under the command of Johab to go and attack the city of Abel.
So, think about it, the citizens of the city do not know there is a fugitive hiding amongst them. They are carrying out their everyday business, trading in the marketplace, cooking in their homes, farming the land, children running free, when suddenly, a guard patrolling the top of the wall raises the alarm and calls out – THE CITY IS UNDER SEIGE!
Thousands of soldiers had surrounded the walls of Abel-beth-maachah and they were ramming the gates and assembling ramps against the wall –
** Do not forget, men see in black & white, they were on a mission to capture the bad guy and they were intent on raiding the city to find him. **
Just then, as if out of no-where a woman appears on the scene:
She can see the detail!!
She can see, if these soldiers get into our city, our homes will be wrecked, our markets destroyed, our children trampled on – hundreds, thousands of lives lost in a massacre ……
So…… she rolled up her sleeves, picked up her pinny and climbed the wall and shouted!!!!
Who’s in charge? I have something to say” (actually the bible doesn’t say she shouted, but think about it …) thousands of testosterone fuelled angry men on the outside, and thousands of angry men & hysterical villagers on the inside! With no microphone or amplification she had to somehow make herself heard …
I believe when you do all that you can do (raise your voice) God will carry your sound right into the camp of your oppressor.
That whole operation came to a stand still because one woman raised her voice in the right direction, her words carried wisdom, her language had an air of authority in it.
The army of the King and the army of rebellion came to a halt and listened – she brought a sense and calm, law and order and in her wisdom she made a decision on her own, that the Kings army had been plotting and planning to do with thousands of soldiers.
She found where Sheba (the bad guy) was hiding, had him killed and then tossed his head over the wall to prove to all the king’s horses and all the king’s men that the job was done!!
(Talk about want to get a job done ask a woman!!)
The moral of the story is this;
You have a voice that God wants to use upon the earth today, the battle cry of His daughters who can see the detail of justice, who know the promises of peace, who will shout a declaration of praise and let the sound of truth be heard, out of her home, in her workplace and echoing from her church.
A woman of WAR-SHIP is a woman of WORSHIP.
Open your mouth and move that mountain.
Find your voice and shift that problem.
Roar like a lioness and change the world around you.
You were made to be loud!
You were made to be noticed!
